Today, Rhys and I picked up some lunch in Subiaco on the way home from my folks place, and went to eat it in King’s Park. Being totally spur-of-the-moment, all we had to sit on was the little bath towel I keep in my car to chuck over my steering wheel in hot weather, or to take to the gym when I forget to take a decent towel. Obvi it wasn’t big enough for the two of us to lie down on… so after eating, I lay down with my top clothed half on the towel, and my bottom half – covered only by short shorts – on the grass. The result:

An awesome spotty grass rash! I’m allergic to pretty much everything (although no foods, thankfully!) so the rash itself isn’t terribly shocking, but it’s definitely the worst grass rash I’ve ever had. I complained to Rhys that I was being bitten by something, but it must’ve just been the grass irritating my skin. Here’s hoping it goes away soon!
For the record, I had a sashimi bento box (salmon/tuna/mackeral sashimi with rice, salad, sushi and miso soup) from Edo in Subiaco, and it was great… especially for only $10.90! So cheap for sashimi! The mackeral sushi was a little lacking but the tuna and (my favourite) salmon was delish, and totally what I was craving after over-indulging in recent times… I’m still so keen to try Sado Island and the Japanese shop at the Mends St shops though, as well.
Hanging out in Kings Park was pretty damn fantastic too, I must say.
Tonight I’m meeting some friends for dinner at a pub local to where Rhys and I live… I’ve been going there about once a fortnight lately, and I love the place (The Como for those who are in Perth). It badly needs a bit of a re-furb from the front, but out the back is a lovely beer garden (I almost wrote bear garden then… that would be interesting, for a pub!), and the inside is filled with booths to eat in and old retro furniture. Oh, and the food is great and the staff are friendly. Bonus!
EDIT: Okay, I wrote this like a week ago, but I just realised that I mentioned that I’m not allergic to any foods. I am! I’m allergic to raw onion! When my mind scanned over the things I’m allergic to it went straight to eggs and nuts and dairy for some reason, but not my humble, stinky little vegetable of death.
