Just a brief update for today (in theory. Whenever I am for a brief update, I end up rambling on for paragraphs). Today was uneventful yet exhausting, just spent with family, at shops and eating out… just being together. I bought some new music to get me through the weekend, though unfortunately one artist I wanted was sold out. Seriously, beginning to buy CDs again is the best thing I’ve done in recent months. After having worked at JB Hifi for a couple of years and spending literally every spare cent of my income on buying music, I suddenly found myself in a non-CD-buying rut for a few years there. The lack of cost-price staff discount hurt. Plus I listened to far too much dance music, so just downloaded sets all the time. But I’m back to my obsessive music-buying ways… just shame about the lack of spare funds.
Now, just chilling on the couch with Rhys, which is nice given that he’s been away for the past four days. We should be preparing for our holiday in Busselton this weekend (yes, we’re still taking it) but it’s hot, and we haven’t seen each other for days, and sometimes it’s just nice to do nothing. We leave tomorrow morning though so it probably means I’ll need to get up early to clean/pack.
I suppose I should take down my Christmas tree, too.
No news on the mum’s illness front at the moment. She had some more tests and sore some doctors this morning, and will have to have a PET Scan tomorrow (or next week? I can’t remember), and we’ll probably know more early next week. In the mean time we just have to be strong and positive. On that note, thanks to everyone who has sent their best wishes via comment or email. It’s very much appreciated <3
I’m so looking forward to chilling out down south for the next few days. Rhys and I are going to look for a wedding venue, but we’re also going to take some much-needed time out to just be us. We’ve scheduled in drinks at Occy’s Brewery (no website unfortunately, but wonderful beer! I will ask them tomorrow when they’re going to get their site up and running! One of the girls who works there always recognises me, which is nice seeing as I don’t go down often
) tomorrow afternoon, and a visit to Meelup Beach in Dunsborough as it’s due to be in the high-30s tomorrow. We’ll probably have lunch at a winery and do plenty of wine tasting, too. I’m just looking forward to sleep ins and cuddles and nothingness. I have an interesting book to get stuck into so it should be a good weekend. I’ll try to update every day still, though – even if it’s just a photo
