I may or may not have just spent an absurd amount of money on one of these:

What is it, you ask? It’s a Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS unit. You wear it on your wrist, and it tracks your runs and tells you your pace and calories burned and all that junk. I’ve been lusting over them for a long time now, and I’ve decided I’m going to get serious about this running thing (as serious as someone who runs at snail’s pace can get), and it’s my birthday in a few weeks, so there. I bought a Garmin. There is a newer version – the 405 – but I prefer the look of the 305, and I’m sure I’m not hardcore enough to require anything too fancy! I figure I’ll take really good care of this, and if it turns out that I’m just not using it, I’ll sell it on.
I now have a Polar HRM that I don’t need. Rhys can have it, but it’s pink, so he will look like a big girl.
